Day 151: Wisdom and Folly (2025) Ascension
The fact that Allison Bond is even alive is a witness to the mercy and sovereignty of God.
“I was what they call a nano preemie. I found out that that is the correct term – but yeah, I was one pound and 10 ounces at birth, and I had mild cerebral palsy and some developmental delays, which when I was younger, that was kind of a battle. But now I’ve been able to kind of overcome obstacles from that.”
Serving her Savior
A few years back, Allison, now 27, prayed that God “would give me a purpose in my life.” And she felt led to embark on an unusual and creative outreach called, Kindness Through Letters Mission. She researches for people who appear to have a need or worries in their life and she custom writes, by hand, thousands of letters to just say hello. “I just thought, hey, it’s the most simplest way to encourage people. So, I did that, and then every time I pray to God that he would provide for my ministry in some way, shape, or form, he ends up doing exactly that.”
So far from her Arkansas home, Allison has mailed thousands of uplifting letters all around the country… to jails, prisons, hospitals, veterans, to name a few.
And does she get letters back from those she wrote to? “Oh yeah, all the time. I keep every response that I have ever received.”
Besides blessing total strangers, Allison also receives benefits from her heartfelt project, “Definitely overcoming and doing what I’m supposed to do because whenever I was younger, I hated writing. My handwriting was horrible and that has improved a lot since I’ve been able to do this, and it also helps my anxiety too, which is another thing that I’ve been able to slowly overcome with my ministry.” And the thank you notes she gets are a double blessing for her.
