What purpose does it serve and what reasons do people have for pursuing an education in it? Modern moral philosophy was dominated by the universalistic ethics of either consequentialism or deontology. Any other aspects of good modern leadership, management and organisations which relate to ethics, could be added to the list. If you reprint/publish it, please let me know where. If something exists, then it must necessarily have goodness.

Knowing the truth that God is the I AM - Pragmatists believe they can know nothing about the reality of our existence. This should not be surprising: neither are there formulae for making good medical diagnoses, or for giving good legal advice. They only include the rough outline from the powerpoint projections. And the problem with obeying one's conscience is that some people have an undeservedly clear conscience about perpetrating, in some cases, the most heinous atrocities, while other, overly sensitive people, berate themselves when they cannot please everyone or when they do not sacrifice their own reasonable happiness for the unreasonable desires of their children or their parents who make demands.

Each of these requirement turn out to be, indirectly at least, also moral obligations for Kant, and are discussed in the Metaphysics of Morals and in Religion. The ability to create the longing that I am alluding to is made possible by several components including those of empathy, mental rationalizing of the environment and how it influences the loved one, a conscience (which is itself born within the abilities of logic, empathy and others), and a portion of the intellectual rationalizing that also permits the sense of beauty to arise (an ugly thing might still be loved if the thing is rationalized to be of an importance greater than its appearance).

I hope that my interpretation and reconstruction of Wiredu is correct. And this Idea of Good is accessible only to the philosophers. This is not to say that they don't influence each other--far from it--but that morals can be more exclusive. The first systematic writer on philosophical questions in Islam was al-Farabi, who had also contributed to ethical discussions. Morality requires both freedom and causality in me, and of course Kant supposes that they are. It argues that an authentic mother, according to the traditional Yoruba-African understanding, is one who performs all her responsibilities as stipulated by the norms and precepts of society.
